We are ecstatic to include this wonderful book by Nancy Gee that highlights the beauty of children reading to a dog. Nancy’s inspiration for The Secret Room came from her encounter with a R.E.A.D. dog at a library where she was doing a reading from her Secret Book Series. A dog entered the library and disappeared into a room. Nancy was curious about what was happening in that room and peeked inside to see a child reading to the dog, whose paws were resting on the book and whose eyes were looking at the child with great interest. Nancy wanted to share the magic that is R.E.A.D. through a book and created this beautiful masterpiece. 

 The book features Maddie and Kitty, who love to read books to children at the local library. One day, animal friends Al and Sal and their animal buddies decide to follow and watch. They notice that Dewey, the library dog, slips into a secret room. When all the children follow Dewey, Maddie and Kitty have no one left to read to! Curious, Al, Sal, and their pals set out to learn what is happening in the secret room
